The Lake County Democratic Party is administered by the Lake County Democratic Executive Committee (LCDEC) and is a precinct-based organization that is governed by Florida Statute 106, with membership recorded by the Supervisor of Elections. There are currently about 80 LCDEC members, with membership open to registered Democrats who reside in the county. 

The objective of the Lake County Democratic Party is to supplement the state and national organizations of the Democratic Party and to secure efficient, able and honest candidates for national, state, county and local offices in accordance with the principles of the national Democratic Party. In furtherance of these goals, the Committee continuously endeavors to maintain and foster the high ideals of the Democratic Party.

Precinct committeemen & women, who are elected to 4-year terms by residents in their precincts at scheduled county elections, become members of the DEC.   Other Democrats may be appointed either to fill vacant openings in their precincts or as at-large members of the DEC.

This site is designed to serve as a communications center for involved Democrats within Lake County and for interested people elsewhere who wish to know more about our dynamic group.

Why "dynamic"?  For example, our well-organized "Get-Out-The-Vote" (GOTV) campaign was so effective that we were able to increase - by 1% - the Democratic turnout in January 29^th’s Presidential Primary over the 2006 General Election!  Additionally, new registered Democrats outnumbered new registered Republicans in Lake County in 2007 by 100+ (3,626 vs. 3,511)!
